Nothing bothers me more than when I hear Christmas music in the beginning of November. Like come on, we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet. I can't go to the mall during November with out seeing all the decorations set out. I understand they are trying to get people in the spirit of Christmas but nothing makes me dread Christmas more than hearing Christmas music or seeing all the decorations.
Now that it's December 2nd, I have fully transitioned in to the Christmas spirit. But before, every time my mom turned on the Christmas music station I would throw a fit and explain why this should not being playing. Christmas is too overrated with Black Friday and everybody trying to get the best deals on gifts. Now, most Black Friday sales start on Thanksgiving. I remember when I was younger Thanksgiving had always been a time for family, not for the best deals on a new coffee maker.
Another thing that really gets me is when people put up their Christmas lights after Halloween. We still have November, don't get too ahead of yourself. Nothing makes me more happy then going down the road on a cold December night seeing the beautifully lit up Christmas lights and other knick knacks people have set up. That's what really gets me in the Christmas spirit.
As you can see, I feel very strongly about Christmas being celebrated before December. Slow down and take a moment, enjoy your November of transitioning in to the cold weather and making a shopping list for what you are going to need on Thanksgiving day.
